Copyrights and licensing

Authors who submit an article for publication in the Warsaw University Law Review accept all the terms that are presented on the website. Authors are not paid for publishing (nor do they pay for publication).

Particular stress is placed on copyright issues – no ghost-writing is allowed. Should the article be written by more than one author, the work of each one should be specified. The Author should also attach a signed scan of the Author’s declaration, confirming they are the author, that the article is original, and that there has been no ghost-writing involved in the piece. Author’s warranties of paper originality, ghostwriting and authorship.

Beginning with issue 1/2019, all articles published in “University of Warsaw Law Review” are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY) license. The full content of the license is available at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode

Review process and deadlines

The submitted papers are subject to a first-tier (preliminary) review by the Board of Editors. At this stage wording, spelling and basic substantive matters are verified.

Should the result of the first-tier review be positive, anonymised papers are sent to two anonymous specialists in the particular field of law (the double-blind review process). The paper must be recommended for publication by both reviewers in order to be published.

Please be patient ‒ the process may take from 3 to 6 months. We will contact you by email to inform you of the results.

The authors should expect to work closely with the Editorial Board on substantive and technical revisions prior to the article’s final publication.
